LG Google TV 2013 series now available for purchase
LG’s 2013 Google TVs are the best option for those looking to get an HDTV with Google TV integrated. The GA6400 and GA7900 series are slim, beautiful and powerful. We were promised a March release date at CES, but the month came and went without news of any launch. I do my usual Amazon search from time to time, though, and it seems they are now available!
We are not sure when these became available. Amazon says the page has been there since March 1st, but that date is not always exact (it’s the date when it was created, not necessarily published). These TVs became available at some point and seem to have gone under the radar. No other sources have reported it and we never got word from LG.
Regardless of how it all happened, it is great to see them available from Amazon. They are available in a variety of sizes ranging from 42 to 60 inches, so there is something for everyone here. Prices are also very flexible, with the cheapest version costing $899 and topping off at $1,899.

You must remember these are really good TV’s. In a way, Google TV is an extra. I would consider one of these if I was looking for a good TV already. If you are happy with your current TV’s performance you may as well stick with a set-top box. These are some nice displays, though.
The GA6400 features passive 3D, a 1080p LED panel and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The higher-end GA7900 offers the nearly-identical features, with the main difference being its 240 Hz refresh rate. The first comes in 42, 47, 50, 55 and 60-inch sizes, while the latter comes only in 47 and 55-inch sizes. Both come with 4 pairs of 3D glasses.
Check them out and let us know if you are signing up for one of these! These very well may be the last Google TV’s from LG, which is sad because they do a great job.
