This has to be the coolest thing I have seen in a long time. YouTube user Doug Gregory has uploaded a video demonstrating what he can do with a Google TV, an Android device and about $300 of home automation equipment. Let me tell you, guys – It’s impressive!

In order to make this possible, he needed a good variety of software. Used apps and plugins include Tasker, AutoVoice, AutoRemote, AuHomationHD, Yatse, XBMC, Netflix and YouTube. The extra hardware consists of a Micasaverde Home Automation gateway, a controller and 4 Z-wave modules.

Program all of those and install them correctly and you got yourself a house that will impress any visitor.
