Google TV finds its way to the Netherlands, Sony Internet TV box first in line

Google TV has great potential, but there are many factors affecting its success. One of them is the fact that Google TV’s availability had been limited to the US for 2 years. The UK was the first country to get Google TV outside of America, and we have been hearing of Germany getting added to the short list. Well, Deutschland is not getting in on the action yet, but its neighbor is.

Google TV has officially hit the Netherlands with the Sony NSZ-GS7 being the first Google-powered smart TV device. It goes for €200 straight from Sony’s website. After converting currency, this is about $50 more than the US price ($200), but you don’t really have many other options.

So there you go! Now we have another country added to the Google TV list. Google and its partners should hurry up if they want to accomplish bringing Google TV to all the countries they planned to cater by 2012. This includes Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany and Mexico. Hopefully they will all get it sooner than later!
